Sam

Sam Sheeley, MS, LPC-MHSP (temp) NCC, joined AGAPE in October 2022 as a contract counselor. Sam earned his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lipscomb University with specializations in Play Therapy and Addictions Counseling. Prior to AGAPE, Sam has worked in a variety of settings, including therapeutic boarding school for teens, drug and alcohol treatment center for young adults, and play therapy therapeutic settings. He enjoys working with clients across the lifespan—especially young adults—as he walks alongside them as they bravely address issues such as anxiety, social anxiety, shame, trauma, and unhealthy coping patterns such as drugs and alcohol.

Sam is passionate about meeting people where they are in their struggle or difficulty, holding a space for them to be authentic, and even holding hope for them when it feels like it is in short supply for them. He believes we are all trying to find ways to be seen, known, and have an impact on the world around us. He feels AGAPE provides the environment to foster that and provides a place and opportunity for healing.

Sam is currently under the supervision of Dr. Joy Samuels.
