Counseling Groups at AGAPE Connection, community, and support are important aspects of the healing process. AGAPE offers group therapy as a means to help clients learn and heal while they are among others with similar struggles, stories, and seasons of life. Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy that involves one or more therapists working with several people at the same time. Group therapy is an excellent option for clients that would like to work on specific issues, while receiving support and encouragement in a group format. Group therapy can also be a more cost-effective way to receive therapy services. Group sizes typically vary from 8-12 people and meet weekly for durations of 6-12 weeks. Fall 2018 Group Sessions Connections is a shame-resilience group that is based off of Brene´ Brown's book, I Thought It Was Just Me (But It Isn't). This group is a great resource for women struggling with perfectionism, self-judgment, self-doubt, identity, fear or shame. Through psycho-education and group activities, participants learn new skills to transform shame into opportunities for connection, courage, empathy and self-compassion.
