AGAPE’s 2nd Annual Fall Southern Social is in the books! We were thrilled to have more than 400 people come together in support of the AGAPE/Morning Star Sanctuary ministry at the Loveless Barn. For those who were able to attend, we hope you saw old friends, made new ones and walked away inspired to partner with us in some way as we strive to strengthen children and families with the healing love of Christ.
For those who couldn’t attend, you were missed, so here are a few highlights of the evening. We shared three videos featuring individuals touched by the work of AGAPE/Morning Star Sanctuary, which you can watch on our YouTube channel. The videos featured George & Carisa DeShields, who serve as AGAPE foster parents, John Fraley, who was fostered and adopted through AGAPE as a child, and Sharon Brown, who came to Morning Star Sanctuary fleeing domestic violence with her 10 children. Each story is a beautiful representation of how God’s love can heal and redeem even the most broken situations.
We also heard an inspirational message from #1 New York Times Bestselling Author Karen Kingsbury and her husband, Donald Russell, who shared their family’s adoption story. Karen's latest book, Two Weeks, tells a story similar to what we experience at AGAPE each day.
We are humbled and grateful to share that our fundraising goal of $125,000 was surpassed! These funds will enable us to continue serving children, families and individuals across Middle Tennessee. If you’d like to partner with AGAPE, you can donate here or fill out this engagement form to get more involved. To view the event photo gallery, click here.
We leave you with this quote from our guest speaker, Karen Kingsbury:
"You love well, laugh often, and look for the miraculous in the story that you're writing with the days of your life...But the most important thing is that you live for Jesus Christ."
