Kiescha Foster joined AGAPE in June 2020 as a Social Services Case Manager. She is an awesome team player, and she works tirelessly to help every child and family she serves. We recently asked Kiescha a few questions about her work, and we’re excited to share her answers to help you get to know her better!
What’s your favorite part of your job?
I have so many favorite parts of my job, it’s hard to just pick one! Unifying families, spending time with awesome children and being a part of the BEST team would have to be at the top of the list.
What about your work might surprise people?
Something that might surprise people is the amount of support we give to children in their after-school activities. From throwing the football before practice to running basketball drills for the middle school try-outs to even attending games, we do our best to support the children we work with. These activities allow our children to feel normal and build positive relationships with peers. People also may not realize how much we learn from the children we work with. They teach me daily; sometimes it’s as simple as taking 10 minutes to learn the latest social media dance from them. This encourages their creativity and puts a smile on their face.
What motivates you?
James 2:14-19 is one motivation for me and a strong family value.
What have you learned since joining AGAPE?
I’m frequently reminded that I have a wonderful team and support system at AGAPE. They are all amazing! God has truly put us together at the right time. Since joining AGAPE, I’ve been able to exercise my faith in God and bring Him into my everyday work.
Do you have a favorite memory from working at AGAPE?
Every moment I’m able to spend with my team creates the best memories. A few of my favorites would be our weekly huddles and random lunch outings, as well as the many individual conversations I get to have with my teammates.
What do you like to do for fun?
For fun I enjoy spending time outside and making jewelry while watching old westerns.
Tell us a little about your family:
I have a large family! Most of my immediate family has migrated to Middle Tennessee. I have one son who keeps me busy.
